Out of Oblivion

In a North Bay Bohemian interview in April, 2004, Danny talks about AMC and his first solo album, The Oblivion Seeker. Sara Bir says that the new record delivers "quivering, almost vulnerable vocals and bare-naked arrangements culminating into bedtime stories for grownups. Pearsons' lyrical non sequiturs are nearly childlike; somehow he manages to make the line 'Won't you suspend your disbelief / for just one more day' insanely catchy and quietly poignant."

Twangy Time!

Clodhopper was included in a roundup of local alt-country bands in the Sept. 17, 1998 Sonoma County Independent.

"I think [alt-country] is just people who like what country music is supposed to be," says Danny Pearson of Sebastopol, the leader and founder of Clodhopper. "Real country was just singing songs for normal people--it's centered around relationships and problems therein: drinking, joking, and such."
